Warhounds FAQ

Everything players ask about Warhounds — release, platforms, RNG, classes, missions and the base.

What is Warhounds?

Warhounds is a turn-based tactics & strategy game inspired by XCOM and Jagged Alliance, about an elite mercenary squad in an alternative-future Africa. You command the squad, run a mobile base and take contracts that decide the region's future.

When does Warhounds release?

Warhounds was released on Steam on August 11, 2026.

What platforms is it on?

PC via Steam. (Platform tags list Single-player and Family Sharing.)

Who develops and publishes Warhounds?

Developed by Everplay DMCC and published by Brightika, Inc.

Does Warhounds have RNG hit chances?

No fake RNG. The developers advertise real ballistics with no point-blank misses — hit chances reflect actual angles, cover and line of fire.

How long are missions?

Missions are designed for 25–40 minutes, or longer sessions if you settle in for the campaign. Difficulty can be tuned from a brutal tactical hell to a light, relaxing run.

What classes are in the squad?

Five classes combine into your squad: Assault, Specialist, Sniper, Machine Gunner and Grenadier.

What is the base like?

Your base is a hijacked cargo ship. You recruit operators (up to six), rebuild bays (barracks first), buy equipment, manage logistics, finances and medical, and use intel as currency for contracts and upgrades.

Is there a story?

Yes. DAAMAT is seizing East Africa, President Canindo hires the Warhounds, and the campaign unfolds mission by mission — including the opening escort mission Distant Smoke, factions like the Red Hands, and the United People's Front resistance alliance.

What are the system requirements?

See the System Requirements page: Windows 10/11, Intel i5-9600 / Ryzen 5 3600-class CPU, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1070 Ti / RX 580-class GPU, 85 GB storage.
